The Times Union recently highlighted Albany International Airport’s “Fear of Flying” program, which is designed to help travelers better understand and manage aviation-related anxiety. The program brings together clinical and aviation expertise to support individuals who experience fear when flying.

Dr. Griffan Randall and retired Southwest Airlines Captain Rick Weiss will lead the course, offering participants both psychological strategies and practical insight into the realities of air travel.

Albany International Airport is hosting a one-evening “Fear of Flying” course on June 4, 2026, led by a local psychiatrist Dr. Griffan Randall and a retired commercial pilot and former U.S. Army helicopter pilot Capt. Rick Weiss to help anxious travelers gain knowledge, tools, and confidence to fly again or for the first time.

The Times Union interviewed Dr. Randall about the up coming Fear of Flying class she is doing at the Albany International Airport retired pilot Rick Weiss.

On August 23rd, 2023, ABC News 10 interviewed Dr. Randall about the upcoming Fear of Flying class at the Albany International Airport which will be led by Dr. Randall and Rick Weiss, a retired Southwest Airlines 737 pilot and former U.S. Army helicopter pilot.
